| This photo shows the Hellcat tanks on the move out of the rail yard at Buick, heading for Europe during WWII. You can see factory #31 (factory #11 at that time) in the background. The tanks were covered more for secrecy than keeping them clean. This view is facing south west. |
Interesting tidbit, My Grandfather was in charge of the hellcat tank assembly, and my father, was one of the founders of the Mr. Goodwrench program. Both contributing to GM history. I only worked there for 10 yrs. But as a boy I had a paper route south of Miller Rd. and Harlow Curtis was on my route, when he was President of GM.
