Sit-Down Strike marker defaced

Some confused person in Flint recently covered this State Historical Marker at the site of the sit-down strike with driveway sealer. I guess some of the younger generation do not like these markers in Flint. The original was stolen a few years back. And the one over near Buick also disappeared. A quote from George Santayana reads: "Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it".

Buick For 1912

This advertisement is for the 1912 Buick automobile. It is from "The Saturday Evening Post" dated October 14, 1911. I especially like the part that states: Every part of this equipment has but one purpose and that is - to render such service to the user as has made it possible for Buick to openly defy anyone to produce a Buick car that is worn out. That is quite a statement, even for that day and age. The sold to date of 83,000 automobiles shows how far we had advanced when Buick City closed. We could build that in less than 90 days in 1999. Before Buick City we could have passed that in 6 weeks. This is the oldest piece in my collection not counting postcards.
