Early views of Buick & Weston-Mott.

This is the Weston-Mott axle factory in 1906 at the corner of Industrial and Hamilton Avenue. You are facing north across Hamilton. This factory was built at the same time as Buick factory #01 in 1906.
1907.

Love the horse and buggy. From left to right is the main office then factory #01 with #06 in the distance. This would be before April 1909.

Sit-Down Strike marker defaced

Some confused person in Flint recently covered this State Historical Marker at the site of the sit-down strike with driveway sealer. I guess some of the younger generation do not like these markers in Flint. The original was stolen a few years back. And the one over near Buick also disappeared. A quote from George Santayana reads: "Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it".

Buick For 1912

This advertisement is for the 1912 Buick automobile. It is from "The Saturday Evening Post" dated October 14, 1911. I especially like the part that states: Every part of this equipment has but one purpose and that is - to render such service to the user as has made it possible for Buick to openly defy anyone to produce a Buick car that is worn out. That is quite a statement, even for that day and age. The sold to date of 83,000 automobiles shows how far we had advanced when Buick City closed. We could build that in less than 90 days in 1999. Before Buick City we could have passed that in 6 weeks. This is the oldest piece in my collection not counting postcards.

Fisher Body Factory #1

This is from a story on "Women In Industry" from March 1953. This is where my mother worked before she quit to raise me. This photo shows Peggy Markel on the assembly line. From the look of the tool in her hand and cloth, I would say she is installing the rear window belt molding. My grand mother also worked here.

Larry Godin

Larry usually bought the convertibles and this was his last and also the last for Buick at that time. This is a 1975 LeSabre. Red with a black top. He also had the same color combination on his 1968 LeSabre. Thanks for all the memories Larry, from your brother Gerry who really misses you.

Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Ann Arbor, Michigan 1976.

He always loved his Buick's.

Larry's 1978 Buick before the accident.

These three photos show the original 1978 Buick Turbo Sport Coupe after an elderly lady ran a red light at the corner of Dupont and Welch in Flint, Michigan. She had attended a funeral earlier that day and thought that you could ignore red lights for the entire day in honor of the deceased. The replacement 1979 can be seen in the background.

This was his replacement 1979 Buick Turbo Sport Coupe. I ended up with this car in 1990 and had much trouble with the turbo. I still have the wheels in my garage. It was a nice looking car though.

This was our cabin in northern Michigan.
