Factory #04 1947

This north-east facing photo is from Industrial and Hamilton Avenues showing the south end of #04. This photo is from Don Bent's book "A Place Called Buick".  News article from 1945 concerning this post war expansion.

This photo of factory #04 being built shows where the Oak Park entrance will be located on Industrial Avenue. This view is facing north-east. This photo is from the Buick Research Gallery. That is the Mylar reflecting in this photo-- that I took just for researching purposes.
Laying brick on factory #04.

Factory #04 being built kind of looks like photos I've seen of the Titanic when it was constructed, "all that's missing is the keel". These girders have been described as being bright orange when construction was going on in 1947. In this view you are facing north-west. The large open area (at the right in this photo) will be the rail dock.
