Oak Park Factories 1903

This view previous to 1903 facing north on the Flint River has the Oak Park Factories showing in the distance. The bridge at the Hamilton crossing has not yet been built. Notice the pleasure boat coming down river. Can you imagine pleasure boats on that stinky dirty river of sewage today? This view is the same as the previous picture except taken froma boat. This picture is obviously taken earlier than the previous one due to all the vegetation still along the east bank of the river. Durant land purchase
