Buick Northend

This view of the north-end of the Buick site is facing southwest from above the site of the #38 warehouse. Factory #36 engine plant is in the foreground. Next is factory #10 which became Buick's transmission plant. Beyond that is the old aluminum foundry #30 which became #03 spring plant after the old forge factory was demolished. Beyond that is the plant that did the aluminum work during WWII #70 which became #81 in 1981. Off to the far right the long building is factory #05 originally called factory #43 during the early 50's when they built components for the J65 jet engine. After the Korean war it was converted for support work of factory #10 and factory #36. Beyond factory #05 is old factory #11 engine plant which later became #31 axle division. You can also make out part of #12, #29 and #85 in the extreme distance. Photo from 1952.
