Here is an artist's rendition of the new engine plant for Buick, to be built starting in 1951. The view is facing southeast. This factory will be built north of Stewart street between Andrews street to the west and the Pere Marquette rail line to the east. This factory is still producing engine's into the new millennium. The engine being produced in 2008 is the very reliable 3800 generation III which has its roots back to around 1959 when engineering was working on the power plant for the new unit-body "Skylark" for 1962. The first year for the all new V6 shows 59,200 installed, only in the Special Standard series. |
